"loaded to division capacity"

In CDP, using 8 round magazines, and not using a Barney mag to put one in  the chamber. Is this "loaded to division capacity"? only 8 rounds total in the gun instead of the usual 9. Thanks

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

No, one in the chamber and 8 in the mag. Top up the mag.

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

If you wanna do that you gotta throw a 7 round mag in the mix.  Mark

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Mark has it right. If one of the mags in use is a 7 rounder, then max on all mags in use is 7.  In this situation you can have 8 in first mag so after LAMR, you are at 7+1.

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

So is the answer, the magazine has to be full (8 rounds) and one in the chamber? yes or no?

If using all 8 round magazines, you must load to 8+1    Mark

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Division capacity is 8. All mags must be loaded to 8 at all times unless CoF states otherwise. All stages start with all mags at division capacity, plus 1 in chamber, unless CoF states otherwise. An...

One potential "gotcha" PE avoidance is how to handle an empty gun start. All mags must be loaded to division capacity only.

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Think what Jack means, as a potential gotcha ... SSP div cap is 10 + 1 in chamber. Shooter has a gun with 15 round cap mags. Loads all with 10 but one with 11. At LAMR, uses the one with 11 to achieve...

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

That is what I thought.  Not an issue up here as max. mags allowed are 10 rounders.  I actually saw this happen twice at the WA State match pn a stage I was SOing.   Involved two stages in the same...

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Saw that yesterday. Shooter finishes stage 1 and immediately shoots stage 2 in the same bay.  Stage 2 is 12 rounds and completed without a reload. Uh-oh mark

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Jay, So, based on all of the discussion...in CCP with 10 round mags, it is still better to have a Barney mag, corrrect? Thanks, George

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

Hi George, "Better" means different things to different shooters. As long as you get to 8+1 in your gun (for CCP), and have just 8 in all mags on your belt, how you get there is up to you. I like my...

Re: "loaded to division capacity"

If I use a +1 mag I always do a press check. If I use a Barney may, I only put 1 round in it and no press check.  Mark
